Private Instruction
My team and I are available to be privately instructed.
I charge an hourly fee for the time spent working on your case. I charge a lesser rate for my employed barristers, if and when they provide assistance.
You are able to privately instruct me at any time during a proceeding or you may just want advice if you have been contacted by the police.
Legal Aid
I am an approved Criminal Legal Aid Provider (Criminal PAL1-4, Court of Appeal/Supreme Court).
Once you have been formally charged with a criminal offence, you are able to apply for Legal Aid. Legal Aid is a scheme that ensures everyone who is entitled is able to have legal representation. You will need to complete the prescribed form which is linked below.
Choice of lawyer on Legal Aid
When you have been charged with a serious criminal offence that has a maximum penalty of more than 10 years’ imprisonment, you are able to nominate your lawyer of choice (provided that they work within the local region you are charged).
If you are charged with an offence that carries a sentence of no less than 10 years, you are not able to select your own lawyer unless there are exceptional circumstances.
